THE NTB TAKE
Why burn
the extra gas?
Cullasaja reads like the sort of Palmer mountain course where the scorecard isn't the whole argument. The back-tee number isn't enormous, but hardwoods, sand and lively greens can make a 6,700-yard track plenty interested in your golf ball. If driver is going sideways, those tree-lined fairways probably won't offer much emotional support. The practice setup is a real plus if the invitation includes time to warm up instead of the usual parking-lot shoe change and one breakfast-ball agreement. The evidence isn't strong enough for us to promise perfect conditions or a certain pace, but it is strong enough to say this looks like a worthwhile private mountain round.
OFFICIAL / HIGH-CONFIDENCE FACTS
- Cullasaja's official golf page identifies an Arnold Palmer-designed, par-72 course with multiple tee choices, hardwood-lined fairways, white-sand bunkers and undulating greens.
- The club says the course is available for play, weather permitting, 11 months of the year.
- Current official amenities include a renovated driving range, a short-game practice area and a putting course. The club also runs member-only and member/guest golf events.
- Public scorecard sources conflict: Golf.com's current course profile lists 6,723 yards with a 73.5 rating and 144 slope, while other listings show different yardages. Use the official current card before publishing exact measurements.
CURRENT GOLFER SIGNAL
- There is not enough recent, independent public-review volume to support a confident claim about current conditioning or pace.
- The strongest reliable signal is the club's active golf programming and investment in renovated practice facilities—not a broad public-review consensus.
