Island Pointe is why the EDGE list exists. It is public, priced under the hundred-dollar line and weird enough—in a good way—that the boys will remember it. You play across islands in the French Broad River, and the back card carries a slope number that looks like somebody's blood pressure after rinsing two balls.

The smart move is to pick the right tees and check how much rain Kodak has had. From the tips, this is a 7,001-yard donation program. From the regular tees, the course says it settles near 6,300 and becomes a much more reasonable Saturday fight.
