18Birdies: roughly 4.2/5, 4.3 value, 3.7 conditions, hard difficulty and generally fast pace. Recent golfers repeatedly mention blind hills, doglegs, creek trouble, small greens and a fun/challenging layout. Condition comments are mixed: some praise the greens/fairways while others see maintenance potential.

Olde White Oaks isn't one of those courses where every hole is sitting right in front of you saying, "Go ahead, big guy."

There are blind hills, doglegs, a creek wandering into the conversation and smaller greens that make your "I was pin-high" excuse less impressive when you're twenty yards left.

The layout gets more praise than the conditioning, which is important. Even golfers who want a little more maintenance still tend to describe the actual golf as fun.

Our call: if the boys want interesting over perfect, this is the Athens course we'd be curious to play.
