the extra gas?
This is exactly the kind of weird little golf idea that can justify an extra drive when the trip already includes Cashiers. Twelve par 3s, lights and enough short-game trouble to settle who actually owns a wedge game—that sounds better than another four-hour argument with driver. We would not build a 200-mile round trip around The Saddle by itself unless the group loves short courses. Pair it with an Old Edwards/GlenCove stay, evening golf or another mountain round, and it becomes a hell of a buddy-trip add-on.
OFFICIAL / HIGH-CONFIDENCE FACTS
- The Saddle is a distinct 12-hole, lighted par-3 course designed by Beau Welling. It opened in 2019.
- Official material confirms walkable terrain, a dedicated short-game area, golf simulator, golf shop and rentals.
- Third-party course data lists approximately 1,601 yards. The official scorecard is linked by GlenCove, but the yardages should be confirmed from the current card before import.
- Current first-tee hours are 9 a.m. Wednesday–Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday. Lighting supports scheduled evening golf, but those hours do not establish automatic nighttime play.
