the extra gas?
If the Chateau Course asks how well you handle water and bunkers, the Woodlands looks more interested in whether you can keep the ball between the trees. The shorter card does not automatically mean an easier Saturday. Elevation, narrower sightlines and a wandering driver can turn “we’ll play the shorter one” into four hours of punch-outs. This has the bones of a fun resort round and may be the more interesting choice for guys who like shaped holes. The current construction-and-condition chatter keeps it from being an automatic 77-mile recommendation today.
